Grinding Machines and Other Post-processing TiO2 Equipment Became Prevailing

　　For a long time, tio2 products were in short supply, thus many products were marketed just after simple packaging. Even crude products could be sold out quickly. This phenomenon misled a lot of manufacturers into thinking that tio2 products could be sold directly soon after they were produced and packaged. Actually, from a professional and high quality point of view, there are still some specific follow-up work to be completed, such as grinding, coating and other procedures. According to the experts, both tio2 obtained from sulfuric acid process and chlorination process generally can not be directly used as a pigment because post treatment work need to be done to enhance their weathering ability, to improve their dispersity and wettability in different solvents as well as to increase their hiding power and gloss etc. In this process, grinding machines can show off their capabilities. In recent years, withe the expanding application fields of tio2 and consumers＇ increasing demand on the quality of tio2 products, crude tio2 products without post teatment can＇t stir consumers＇ desire to purchase any longer, instead, despite the higher price, tio2 products going through post-processing procedures are more and more preferred. Consequently, grinding machines and other post-processing equipment attract the attention of tio2 manufacturers and their sales conditions are greatly improved.

　　On the "Titanium Dioxide Manufacturing and Application Forum of 2009" held in this June, Mr. Feng Pingcang, the director of Beijing Rich Topway Technology Co., Ltd. made his special report titled "Homemade Grinding Equipment＇s Application in TiO2 Manufacturing and Their Entry into International Market". This report attracted the attention of many Tio2 manufacturers. After the forum, with great interest, they chatted with Mr. Feng to learn the performance and characteristics of the grinding equipment produced by Beijing Rich Topway Technology Co., Ltd. Some manufacturers expressed their intention to buy the machine. Among them, the representatives from Sichuan Lemon Co,. Ltd. signed a contract with Mr. Feng to buy 2 sets of wet ultrafine grinding equipment. Lemon values the quality of tio2 all along. It is reported that Lemon had bought three sets of Germany grinding equipment before, but the equipment were still not enough due to the initiation of the phase II expansion project, so it bought the equipment from Rich Topway after careful consideration and comprehensive investigation. From the act of Lemon, we can see the importance of grinding equipment. Without the participation of grinding equipment, even if the production work was done perfectly, the quality of Tio2 would be greatly reduced and as a result its price will be interfered. In reality, most of the domestic manufacturers know the above fact very well. However, manufacturers pleased to invest in post-processing equipment are only those who rank China＇s top ten TiO2 producers such as Dongjia and Lemon etc. The grinders they introduced are mainly from Germany. There are 40 sets in total. Among them, the grinding cylinder＇s volume of 20 sets is 500l and that of the other 20 sets is 1000l. Whereas most of the other titanium enterprises use homemade elementary grinding equipment and there are some enterprises who even don＇t have such equipment. After the eruption of financial crisis, witnessing the completely different market treatment of high-quality Tio2 and ordinary Tio2, many manufacturers understood that quality is the deciding factor. Subsequently, they began to change from price competition to quality competition. Thereupon, a lot of titanium manufacturers, including many "newcomers", for instance, Xin-Fu Titanium Dioxide Company, began to pay attention to the quality improvement. It is reported that in the crisis Xin-Fu Titanium Dioxide Company committed itself to increasing the added value of its products and one of its strategies is to improve the special quality and superior performance of its tio2 products. In order to obtain better dispersity, Xin-Fu Titanium Dioxide Company specially imported a grinding equipment which is worth more than 20 million yuan. Moreover, it sent technical personnel to DuPont and other famous advanced foreign companys to study grinding and other post-processing techniques. It can be clearly seen that both leading titanium companys and domestic medium-sized titanium enterprises are improving their products＇ grade and their market competitiveness through investment in post-processing equipment.

　　In previous years, few insiders mentioned tio2 grinding equipment, let alone the outsiders. As a matter of fact, it is just after the "Titanium Dioxide Manufacturing and Application Forum" held by Beijing Oriental Horizon Technology Development Co.,Ltd. and China TiO2 Net etc. tio2 grinding equipment became a hot topic and it began to attract the attention of more and more manufacturers. According to the experts, grinding equipment used in the manufacturing process of Tio2 consist of pre-grinding equipment and ultra-fine grinding equipment. Dry pre-grinding equipment includes raymond, high-pressure roller mill, ball mill, sand mill and vibration mill. And wet pre-grinding equipment contains ball mill, vibration mill and colloidal etc. Among them, sand mill is the essential equipment used for dispersing and grinding Tio2 delusterant which is needed in the process of chemical fiber production. At present, the imported sand mills which account for 90% of the total ones used in China all have high price, long-cycle spares provisioning and poor after-sales service. Under such circumstances, homemade sand mills are required to fill the huge market vacancy. However, at the moment, it＇s difficult for homemade sand mills to be chosen by Chemical Design Institute and ultimate customers due to their lagging design methods, material selection and manufacturing processes. Nonetheless, after some time, when the introduced technologies are digested and the independent technological innovation are realized, homemade sand mill will gradually replace imported ones and become prevailing in every titanium factories. HDM1000, a large ultra-fine grinding equipment of Rich Topway, is a good example.

　　At present, with the recovery of tio2 market, upscale tio2 is preferred by consumers. Under the pressure of competition and driven by the profits of added value, tio2 manufactures will not only strictly supervise the production process but also do the post treatment work perfectly. Therefore, grinders and other post-processing equipment will be more valued by tio2 manufacturers and hence their sales prospects will be quite optimistic. With the constant breakthroughs of the manufacturing technology of grinding equipment specially designed for domestic titanium dioxide, homemade equipment will have more chances to appear on the market. Seen from the development potential and growth momentum of China＇s independent technology, in a few years, the quality of domestic tio2 post-processing equipment is hopeful to be significantly improved and even to replace their imported counterparts to some extent. By then, homegrown grinders and other post-processing tio2 equipment will move towards great prosperity.
