Ten Knacks in Using Wood Coatings

　　The first knack: Pre-dedusting. At first, rub the wood down and get rid of the dust with a special dust cloth. If the area is large(e.g.floor), use a vacuum cleaner to do the cleaning job.

　　The second knack: Different material using different methods. First you should know the woodiness. For hard wood, such as teak, beech wood and Mengjialasi, using putty and shellac as render will interfere the adhesion and cause discoloration. To achieve the best effect, you＇d better brush the paint directly. If there are gaps to be filled, it is recommended to use the mixture of paint and wood flour. With regard to ordinary wood, if transparent putty is used as a render, you are suggested to use scraper to evenly scrape the whole foot layer. After drying, the polish should be even and the excess transparent putty attached on the surface of the wood should be gotten rid of thoroughly with the purpose of avoiding paint disease.

　　The third knack: Cleanness. While brushing paint, the environment and brushing tools must be clean and the operators should wear clean work clothes and hats.

　　The fourth knack: The coating. The coat should be thin. For multi-layer coating, brushing shouldn＇t be done until the complete dry of the lower coat. And polish is needed for every coating.

　　The fifth knack: Suitable temperature. low temperature should be avoided because when the temperature is below 5℃, the drying of the paint will need a long time and the white mist or extinction will occur; Don＇t operate under direct solar radiation or at high temperature because the coating will dry too soon and pinholes or air bubbles will be produced.

　　The sixth knack: Humidity. When the environmental humidity is greater than 85%, it is not appropriate for construction, or whitish film will occur.

　　The seventh knack: Timely construction. Prepare the bicomponent or three-piece paint pro rata and stir it. Then resting for 15 minutes and employ it after the small air bubbles caused by the stirring are all discharged. Filter it before use when necessary. Use it up in four hours when the paint is well prepared.

　　The eighth knack: Don＇t add thinner randomly. Use assorted thinner if necessary and take care not to use it excessively.

　　The ninth knack: The procedure for bushing paint. Take account of the impact to wall paint when brushing the floor paint. Generally the wall should be brushed first and the last wall paint should not be brushed until the floor paint is finished.

　　The tenth knack: The safety. The mixture ratio and the complement of the paint differs with specific products, so the operators should read the product instruction first. Besides, they should also pay attention to safety when operating because the paint is flammable.
